1080p Dead Pixel Test
Click Full Screen and scan each color. At 1080p, individual pixels are large enough to spot easily from your normal viewing distance — a single dead pixel is hard to miss once you scan systematically.

Testing a 1080p Monitor for Dead Pixels
Full HD (1920 × 1080) packs 2.07 million pixels — four times fewer than 4K. At 24 inches, pixel density is 91 PPI and each pixel measures 0.28 mm across. From a normal 50–70 cm viewing distance, a dead pixel on a 1080p monitor is clearly visible to the naked eye. You do not need to lean in close or test at maximum brightness — though both help you catch faint stuck pixels.
Go full screen and work through the colors in order: black first (reveals bright stuck pixels), then white (reveals dark dead pixels), then red, green, and blue to expose sub-pixel faults. Gray is useful for catching pixels that appear correct at full saturation but fail at mid-brightness. Spend five seconds on each color, scanning in horizontal strips from top to bottom.
| Screen size | PPI at 1080p | Pixel size | Visibility |
|---|---|---|---|
| 21–24 inch | 91–105 PPI | 0.24–0.28 mm | Clearly visible at arm's length |
| 27 inch | 81 PPI | 0.31 mm | Very visible — hard to miss |
| 32 inch | 68 PPI | 0.37 mm | Obvious — consider upgrading resolution |
What to Do If You Find a Dead Pixel
If the pixel is stuck on a color rather than fully dark, try the stuck pixel fix tool for 10–20 minutes. Most 1080p monitors use TN or IPS LCD panels, which respond better to rapid color cycling than OLED. If the fix fails or the pixel is permanently dark, check your warranty status and contact the manufacturer. For a step-by-step guide to making a claim, see the dead pixel warranty guide.
